Shikkari Karate Kai Competition Squad

We are a local group of adults and children who live and train in the Stanley & Consett area and we’re hoping that you might be willing to sponsor the team or an individual to help them with their journey. If this is possible this would be much appreciated and help us massively.
Our squad is been noticed and more opportunities have rising for us. We now have 4 members who currently fight on the KKO Great Britain Squad (3 are currently away at the moment in Bratislava, Slovakia fighting in the WUKF World Championship). We also have 7 WTKA Team England squad member 5 of them are the current European Title holders.
We are also looking for help to put on a grassroots competition to get more people interested in the competition side of karate and hopefully getting more local people fighting for Great Britain and England.

So, whatever your level or interest STWF can offer a session to suit you. Alongside the physical aspect of WF we also focus on the social side and encourage all players to join us for a coffee after the Tuesday & Thursday session.

Moors in the Community

Moors in the Community is the Community Outreach Programme of Spennymoor Town Football Club, with the aim of improving the community link between the football club and residents in Spennymoor & surrounding areas.
We look to achieve this by providing multiple different projects to benefit not just one demographic, but all residents within our local community.
We currently have twelve active projects within Moors in the Community, covering all aspects of the local community. Key projects include, our community meals programme, to feed the vulnerable and elderly, Disability Football Sessions, to include all regardless of barriers & our Youth Club Support Sessions, to empower our local young people!
As we have grown over the past 16 months, the demand for our services has increased rapidly, resulting in the creation of new jobs for local people within the town. We are looking to further increase this rate of employment by enquiring about the use of local venues so that we can base Moors in the Community. This will enable us to have our own venue to deliver more sessions of our current projects, introduce new initiatives and impact more people.

Mainsforth Amateur Boxing

Head coach Richard O’Neill opened Mainsforth Amateur Boxing club in November 2022 under England Boxing affiliation. He was a successful Amateur and Pro boxer and stopped competing back in 2020. Since that time, he has been coaching adults and children at Mainsforth gym with the help of fellow coaches, Ashley Anderson, Adrian Bowmer and Sean Ferguson. The gym is helping people in the community massively and we just want to see the club continue to grow for future generations to come. Promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle is particularly important in the community and a much-needed place in our area where there are extremely limited opportunities. we also have two more new coaches on board now as well Anthony Railton & David Dent.
